HITRAN SpecViewer 0.1 This viewer uses the HITRAN 04 database (http://cfa-www.harvard.edu/HITRAN/) and Matlab. First of all, extract the zip-file to a destination folder on your system. You have to download all the necessary .par files from the Hitran site and convert them with the 'SpecPrepare.m' script into a binary (.mat) file (for test purposes the CO data comes with the zip-file). This step increases the speed of viewing the spectroscopic data and have to be done only once. After this, you can start the SpecViewer.m. All *hit04.mat files will be recognized for viewing. Just select one dataset and push the 'Plot' button for viewing the data. There is also a context menu for things like zoom, print, grid .... The real calculation of the data is done in the SpecMe.mexw32 file, which is compiled via 'mex SpecMe.c' (compiler: Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Express Edition in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8).
