This package contains Matlab and C-code for denoisinig ultrasound images using the method of [1]. [1] A. Pizurica, W. Philips, I. Lemahieu and M. Acheroy, "A Versatile Wavelet Domain Noise Filtration Technique for Medical Imaging," IEEE, Trans. on Medical Imaging, vol. 22, no. 3, pp. 323--331, March 2003. ****************** There are TWO MAIN PROGRAMS TO BE CALLED FROM MATLAB: 1) genlik_US.m - basic version 2) genlik_US_roi.m - allows the parameter estimation from a specified region of interest (roi) from the image. This is important for the processing of real ultrasound images where the actual ultrasound data often form only a piramydal-shaped central part of the image and the rest of the image are computer generated data. Both of these programs allow: - denoising arbitrary input images and - generation of test images with artificial spatially correlated speckle In cases where the reference noise-free image is provided the program calculates the input and the resulting signal to noise ratio's For comparison, a user-interactive homomorphic adaptive Wiener filter is included in this package: HomWienerSpatial.m ****************** Mex-files (c-files) are compiled for use under Microsoft operating system.
