You should read this information before you install and operate the software. Note when printing the file that the left and right margins are set to a width of 25 millimeters for A4 portrait size. It cannot run under Microsoft Windows 3.1, Microsoft Windows for Workgroups 3.11 or Microsoft Windows NT 3.x. 3 Hardware Requirements In order to run Win-SIMOCODE-DP you need a PC with a 80486 (or higher) processor and at least 8 Mbytes of RAM. Win-SIMOCODE-DP/Professional (Smart) occupies approximately 5.5 MB (2,5 MB) of memory on your hard disk. You have to secure that you have enough free memory on the hard disk where the configuration data are located. You need a VGA monitor or another monitor which is supported by Microsoft Windows. . Optional, but recommended: a Microsoft mouse or other mouse which is supported by Microsoft Windows. A printer must be available for printing parameters. All graphic printers supported by Windows are suitable. A laser printer is recommended. For online operation of Win-SIMOCODE-DP via RS232 a special 3-pole connection cable (order number 3RW2920-1DA00) is required. Other cables could destroy the COM interface. This cable must be connected to the serial communication inter- face of your PC. For online operation of Win-SIMOCODE-DP/Professional via DPV1 a CP is required which is supported from S7DOS. 4 Addendum to the Software Product Certificate The Software Product Certificate is part of the Agreement concerning the use of software products acquired against one-off payment which is included in the con- signment. It lists, among other things, the licensed software components and their guarantee class.The customer is not authorized to make modifications to the software during the period of contract. In any correspondence, quote the identification number shown on the Software Product Certificate. 5 User Documentation You will find the most important details about working with Win-SIMOCODE-DP in the online help files of Win-SIMOCODE-DP which are accessible once you have installed Win-SIMOCODE-DP via the "Help" menu or as context-sensitive help via the F1 key and the question mark symbol. 6 Installing the Software To install Win-SIMOCODE-DP, follow these steps: 1. Place your Win-SIMOCODE-DP disk 1 in the disk drive. 2. In the "Start" menu of Windows, select "Settings" "Control Panel". In the "Control Panel" window, select "Add/Remove Programs". In the "Add/Remove Programs Properties" window, select the "Install/Uninstall" tab and click on the "Install..." button. In the window that appears, you can set the drive and the path to the Setup program. 3. The Setup program guides you through the entire installation of Win-SIMOCODE-DP. Important Note -------------- Win-SIMOCODE-DP registers itself in Microsoft Windows system files. You cannot move or rename Win-SIMOCODE-DP files or folders using Microsoft Windows utilities such as the Explorer or modify Win-SIMOCODE-DP data in the Microsoft Windows registry. The program may no longer run properly after such modifications.Software products have to be removed according to Microsoft Windows conventions, otherwise they cannot be uninstalled. You remove Win-SIMOCODE-DP via the Microsoft Windows application "Add/Remove Programs" (in the Microsoft Windows taskbar via Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs). This is the only way to uninstall software when running Windows. 7 Information on Working Notes: Please deinstall old Win-SIMOCODE-DP versions before installing Win-SIMOCODE-DP
