All Rights Reserved ************************************************************ This package contains the LinKits application. The product is developed according to the documents: - LIN Protocol Specification, Revision 1.2, 17 Nov 2000; - LIN API Recommended Practice, Revision 1.2, 17 Nov 2000; - LIN Configuration Language Specification, Revision 1.2, 17 Nov 2000. The product is intended for M68HC908GR60 Motorola microcontroller (MCU). It is strongly recommended that the following compiler versions are used: - Metrowerks Codewarrior for HC08, Version 3.0; - COSMIC Software 68HC08 Compiler Driver, Version 4.4e. This document contains additional information about the product. Presented notes are the latest available. The following topics are covered: 1. Installation 2. Development hardware and software recommendations 1. Installation 1.1. Setup instructions It is strongly recommended to close all running applications and login as Administrator before LIN08GR60 installation. It helps to avoid an access error during system icons installation and updating Windows Registry. Run the SETUP.EXE program from the LIN08GR60 installation directory of the distribution kit. Follow the prompts and instructions of the installation program. The installation program copies all needed files to the target directory. It is strongly recommended to select valid target directory name. The directory name must not contain spaces. File FILELIST.TXT in the installation root directory contains a complete directory structure and list of files included in this release. It is necessary to install Adobe Acrobat Reader version 5.0 or newer to view the LIN08GR60 User's Manual. The LIN08 driver installation will occupy approximately 1 MB of disk space. 1.2. Uninstallation To uninstall LIN08 Driver Software use one of the following: - "Uninstall" icon in the LINKit for GR60 Program Folder in Windows Start/Programs menu or - "Add/Remove Programs" applet in the "Control Panel" folder. Delete LINKitGR60 root directory and all its subdirectories to remove the data created during LIN08GR60 Driver usage. If the LIN Program Folder is not removed from Windows Start Programs Menu after uninstallation then remove it manually. 2. Development hardware and software recommendations This version of the product is to be used on IBM PC 486 (or higher) compatible computer. The PC has to work under Windows 95/***/ME/NT4/2000/XP during LIN08GR60 installation. It is necessary to install Adobe (R) Acrobat Reader version 5.0 or newer to view the LIN08GR60 User's Manual. 2.1. Compilers Any of the following compiler suites should be installed for application compilation and linking: - Metrowerks Codewarrior for HC08; - Cosmic compiler suite for HC08. Note: The following compiler versions have been used for LIN08 Driver developing and testing: - Metrowerks Codewarrior for HC08, Version 3.0; - COSMIC Software 68HC08 Compiler Driver, Version 4.4e. These compiler versions are recommended for application developing with LIN08GR60 Driver.
