Melcosim.exe Program Ver.4.03 Data File Ver.09_10_01 Oct.05.2009 Mitsubishi Electric Corporation -------------------------------------------------- Thank you for using Melcosim.exe . This is a average loss calculation program of some IGBT module / IPM for VVVF inverter and Chopper circuit applications. This software requests Windows (2000 or later) of Microsoft. The file will be issued as a compressed file by a ZIP. You need to melt (de-compress) the file before using this software. Function.DLL, LimitInfo.DLL, PassInfo.DLL, MFC71.DLL, msvcp71.DLL, msvcr.71DLL and Simcore.DLL must be in same folder with Melcosim.exe . No need to make a install process. Just run the Melcosim.exe . Though some resistory is entered and does not be erased. The program which is running in some computer, may not operate in another computer. You must copy to the another computer before running. This software have a time limit to use. If you change the setting of the date of your computer, the program may not operate after. -------------------------------------------------- Note (Hypothesis, limitation, conditions, etc.): The calculation is based on typical characteristics of the IGBT and FWD. For IGBT & FWD(Free Wheeling Diode), the data are based on 125 degC. So, the loss will be smaller in the actual lower temperature operation. Then FWD of IGBT may show a higher loss especially for the converter application. The thermal resistance Rth(j-f) is a value, basically defined at just under the chip. Though Rth(c-f) of IGBT module and IPM is a value measured at the side of the base plate. Then, the temperature rise may be higher than actual. Because of this calculation does not calculate a transient temperature rise, it is not suit for worst-case design, especially at low output frequency. Anyway, some result of this calculation method is compare to the actual inverter loss test, by compare the temperature rise at dc current condition, and confirmed the propriety. The PWM generation is adopt for saw wave compare to sinusoidal, three phase & two phase modulation. No dead time is calculated. The calculation makes a warning at out of range, though it will show the result. It will help you to consider about out of range, though it will also show a funny result in some conditions as over than voltage limit. Please consider about the reality especially when the warning appear. It does not be guaranteed any about the result by using this software. It is free to use, but copyright does not be abandon. Do not change the program. It is recommended to watch the revising and use a latest version.
