Note: This sample application and corresponding sample code is provided
for example purposes only. It has not undergone rigorous testing
and as such should not be shipped as part of a final application
without extensive testing on the part of the organization releasing
the end-user product.
The included code is a Delphi 4.0 example using the MapInfo MapX OCX 4.0.
The sample code and executable show you some of the basics of using the OCX.
The default geoset is USA based and can not be changed in the program. The
program gives you a menu with options File, Tools, Datasets, Layers.
File - Exit: closes the application
Tools - Selector: uses MapX selector tool
ZoomIn: Tool to zoom in on map
ZoomOut: Tool to zoom out on map
Pan: Tool to pan map
Custom: Ruler Custom line tool to determine distance between points.
To use, click and hold mouse button down, drag and then release.
Datasets - ODBC: Adds a Dataset using an ODBC recordsource and does a Ranged
theme on the data.
To use: you must create an Access ODBC Datasource called
MapStatsV4 that points to the MapStats.mdb Access database that ships
with MapX
UnBound Adds a Dataset using and UnBound recordsource. This uses the
OnRequestData event to read the data from an array that is generated
on form activation. An Individual Theme is then generated for this
data.
Remove All Removes all datasets
Layers - Layer Control Brings up layer control form
