Note: This sample application and corresponding sample code is provided
for example purposes only. It has not undergone rigorous testing
and as such should not be shipped as part of a final application
without extensive testing on the part of the organization releasing
the end-user product.
This example project demonstrates how to use the MapInfo MapX Control
using the C++ wrapper classes provided in the files MapX.h and MapX.cpp.
Features shown in this example:
Creating the mapx window.
Use of MapX tools such as Zoom, Center, Select, etc.
Handling of Stock and Custom Events.
Using the C++ wrapper classes to automate MapX funtionality.
Adding a dataset with data read in from a file.
Creating a theme using default parameters.
Creating a multivariate theme.
Opening one or more mapinfo tables (layers) and adding them to the map.
Printing the Map.
Exporting the map to the clipboard.
Using a right mouse click context menu.
Displaying the MapX property pages.
Catching exceptions and displaying error messages from MapX.
Using MapX in a dialog box.
Object Editing (creating and using mapx feature objects).
User Draw Layer.
Using MapX Find.
Creating custom tools.
Notes on using the example program:
The US geoset is opened by default by MapX when it is created.
Use the properties dialog from the View menu to experiment with
some of the features of MapX.
Before you can create a theme, you must first Add a dataset.
If you cannot bring up the Object Editing or Find Dialogs, open the dialog templates and delete and re-insert the mapx ocx into the dialog. (Right-Click->insert ole control).
