DUNE LINUX KERNEL SDK ===================== This SDK allows you to build Linux kernel modules for Dune HD media players. Supported platforms and Dune models ----------------------------------- Sigma Designs 8***2 platform: STB models: Dune HD Base 3.0, Dune BD Prime 3.0, Dune HD Smart D1/H1/B1, Dune HD Max, Dune HD Duo CPU: MIPS 667 MHz Linux kernel: 2.6.22.19 Sigma Designs 8652 platform: STB models: Dune HD Lite 53D CPU: MIPS 500 MHz Linux kernel: 2.6.22.19 Sigma Designs 8670 platform: STB models: Dune HD TV-101, Dune HD TV-301, Dune HD TV-102p CPU: MIPS 700 MHz Linux kernel: 2.6.29 Sigma Designs 8672 platform: STB models: Dune HD TV-303D, Dune HD Base 3D, Dune HD Connect 3D CPU: MIPS 800 MHz (+L2 cache) Linux kernel: 2.6.32 Sigma Designs 8674 platform: STB models: Dune HD TV-102, Dune HD Connect CPU: MIPS 700 MHz Linux kernel: 2.6.32 Recommended host OS ------------------- Ubuntu 10.04 is known to work OK. Preparing kernel source tree ---------------------------- To prepare the kernel source tree for the given platform, do the following: ./build.sh (8***2|8652|8670|8672|8674) [build_roots] All needed packages will be downloaded, configured, and built automatically. Linux kernel will be fully prepared, configured and all preconfigured kernel modules will be built. All needed files and subdirectories will be created in the current directory. If you want to work with several platforms simultaneously, it is recommended to create a dedicated directory for each platform, and change to this directory before running "build.sh" script. Preparing shell environment --------------------------- Before manually running any make targets in the linux kernel build tree or building your kernel modules, prepare the needed shell environment: . /path/to/cs_rootfs_.../rootfs-path.env If you are using several different platforms, make sure that you are using the proper "cs_rootfs" package. Testing Linux kernel modules on Dune ------------------------------------ See here for the instructions about telnet access into Dune: http://files.dune-hd.com/partners/sdk/dune_devel_info.txt
