================================================================ CONTENTS OF THIS README FILE: - HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS - INSTALLING THE PROGRAMS - STARTING THE PROGRAMS ================================================================ Hardware requirements ===================== To use the programs one needs a PC with a 80286 processor or higher. All programs run under standard VGA resolution (***0x480). The old CGA format is also supported everywhere, some other formats partly. Laser printers (HP LaserJet compatible), PostScript printers, and dot matrix printers (Epson compatible) are supported for printing graphics. Installing the programs ======================= The program packages in this collection are stored in a compressed archive on the installation disk. The programs must be installed on the hard disk by using the program INSTALL, which can be found on the CD. The destination directory (drive and path) must be specified, as for example C:\CHAOS . If the subdirectory (e.g. \Chaos ) does not exist, it is created. After opening a DOS window and changing to the CD ROM drive, the command INSTALL will start the installation. If, for example, E: is the CD ROM drive, the command E: changes to the CD ROM drive and INSTALL C:\CHAOS installs the programs on the hard disk (drive C:) in subdirectory \CHAOS. In the course of the decompression the names of all copied files are displayed. Starting the programs: ========================== Executing \MENU.BAT provides a menu for calling all programs comfortably. The programs require the full screen modus, which can be activated, e.g., under Windows 95 or Windows NT by pressing the keys ALT and ENTER simultaneously.
