1: Package Contents This package contains preliminary header and initialization files ColdFire MCF5282 microprocessor. The software includes sample processor initialization routines for the MCF5282 running on a m5282evb evaluation board as well as an empty application template (simple project). The software has currently been built under 2 development systems. Both of these are described separately below. The directory structure is as follows: mcf5282\ |--- build\ |--- docs\ |--- obj\ |--- src\ |--- |--- ethernet\ |--- |--- fat\ |--- |--- init\ |--- |--- simple\ All documentation (besides this file) is in the 'docs' directory. Source code for each project is found in separate folders beginning in the 'src' directory. The 'build' directory contains the compiler specific portions of the software package including make/project and linker files. The 'obj' directory is created once a project is built and contains all the object and executable files created by the compile and link processes. 2: WindRiver Diab Data Compiler environment The build environment for the Diab toolchain includes make files that can be processed with GNU Make. If your build host is WIN32, the easiest way to setup the build environment is to install cygwin provided by RedHat at: http://sources.redhat.com/cygwin/ The top level make file for use with the Diab toolchain is Makefile found in the directory 'mcf5282'. This file in turns calls the project specific makefile in 'mcf5282\build\diab'. To get a list of all the targets, type "make" within the 'mcf5282' directory. You will need to specify your compiler installation directory by modifying the "CCDIR" macro in the file 'mcf5282\build\diab\mcf5xxx.comp'. Also, this makefile contains calls to the WindRiver visionCLICK convert utility that converts .elf files to a format used by the vision toolchain. If you are not using the visions tools, comment these lines out. 3: Metrowerks CodeWarrior environment A project has been setup to compile the entire example software package using the CodeWarrior compiler from Metrowerks. The project is located at 'mcf5282\build\mwerks\mcf5282.mcp'.
