USB to Ethernet Communication Bridge Demo ------------------------------------------- This is a communication bridge demo between USB and Ethernet. The USB messages will be transferred to the Ethernet and will be transmitted via a socket with a specific port number. Data can be send from the Ethernet side and is received in the USB side of the bridge. ************************* 1. Demo requirements ************************* This demo requires the following Hardware - PIC32 Ethernet Starter Kit (DM320004) ************************* 2. Running the Demo: ************************* To run the demo, 1. Load the demo code into MPLAB by double clicking the desired *.mcp project file. 2. Connect the starter kit with the PC using the mini-B USB cable provided in the kit. 3. Connect the Starterkit into the TCPIP network using the network cable. 4. Choose the PIC32 Starter Kit debugger tool in MPLAB IDE by selecting Debugger>Select Tool and then click on PIC32 Starter Kit. 5. Build the project by selecting Project->Build All. 6. Program the starterkit by selecting Debugger>Programming>Program All Memories. 7. Run the demo by selecting Debugger>Run. 8. Connect the micro-B USB cable on to the OTG connector of the starter kit and the other end of the cable to the PC. 9. Now the PC will detect this as a new USB device. If you are connecting this first time, then the PC will ask for an .inf file. 10.Select the “Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)” option. Point to the “\USB to Ethernet Bridge\inf” directory 11. Once the device is successfully installed, open up the PC Application "Simple USB CDC App.exe" and connect the serial port shown in the dropdown list. You can see COM5 or above in most of the PC. select the port and press the "connect" button. Now USB side is ready to send/receive data. 12. Open up a command prompt and ping MCHPBOARD. It will return the IP address of the board. 13.Once you get the IP address then type "telnet 9766". 14.You are ready to send/receive data from ethernet side.
