the uart.v is a standard unit which can be used to connect to any bus via different bus interface. Here we design a uart based on apb bus ,so we need to design an interface(apb_uart_if.v) between apb bus and standard uart unit.if you need a uart to connect to avalon bus ,you only need to design an avalon interface.
