COMPILING & INSTALLING
----------------------
As usual, ./configure && make. You need boost, which is available at
http://boost.org/.
See the INSTALL file for more information.
Type ./configure --help for compilation options.
INTRODUCTION
------------
The library is thoroughly documented. Not only an User's Guide is provided,
with a tutorial and everything, but detailed automatic documentation using
Doxygen is provided as well. And a bunch of examples is supplied.
To learn libGlass as fast as possible: read the tutorial chapter in the user's
guide, and take a look at the examples. You should be able to learn the basics
in a few minutes.
The website has a list of papers on Glass, and the full documentation.
KNOWN ISSUES
------------
Glass is still beta, and there are some known issues that are being fixed:
* thread safety is not 100%. There are some strange deadlocks happening
occasionally.
* Java binding is not finished yet. Most of the code is in the bindings/java
directory, and demos/test is an example of how to use Glass with Java.
* the packet log system is not providing very useful information. This
will be fixed in the next release with a more robust handling of packets.
* array support for Glass types (Shared, Event, etc) is not finished yet.
* the portable serialization system is incomplete. This may be a source
of problems in heterogeneous platforms.
