Legal Stuff ------------------------------------------------ This code is copyright Kestral Computing Although we've done our best to make TxyGraph bug-free, we don't promise that it will work as claimed and we are not responsible for any mishaps that may occur during proper (or improper) use of TxyGraph. The same applies to the other components included in this package. We own the source code but you are allowed to use it. You can use these components for whatever you want. You don't have to pay us, but you send any bugfixes or improvements you make to us. If you wish your improvements will be incorporated into the public release version of the components. You may not pretend that you wrote these components. If you redistribute these components you must not change the packages without first gaining our approval. 2. Files Included ------------------------------------------------ Enclosed in this zip file is the following files: readme.txt - this file .pas and .dfm files - source code \16res\xyReg.dcr - 16bit dcr file \32res\xyReg.dcr - 32bit dcr file \docs\*.htm - documentation \demos\*.* demo programs \cbuilder\*.* - extra files required for cbuilder 3. Installation ------------------------------------------------ If you are upgrading from a version from before v3.00 please uninstall that version because the component declaration is now in a different file Make sure all the *.pas and *.dfm (other than those in the demos subdirectory) are in the same folder, along with the appropriate dcr file If you are using CBuilder you will also need to install spin.pas from the \cbuilder directory Install the file xyReg.pas into Delphi or CBuilder (use the standard instructions) You may find that you need to add xydata to the uses clause of the applications using xyGraph. If anyone can tell me how to get around this requirement, I'd be grateful! 4. What's new ------------------------------------------------ Version 3.0 * Live Data Sourcing at design and run-time * Save and Read files * Much improved Design Time dialogs also available at runtime * Support for CBuilder - not too hard :) * Some minor bug fixes Version 2.3 * Legend * CopytoClipboard * Print bugs fixed * fix other bugs & few minor features Version 2.2 * Second Y axis * More Statistical analysis * hooking foreign TSeries * inclusion of THistogram * designer Version 2.1: * TDataseries - all the data handling capacity separated from TxyGraph * Dates on Axes Version 2.0 * it's now a lot more stable - no more crashes because of bad axes settings * Much smarter axis scaling * No limits to the amount of data * Much improved data interface * Plot functions and annotations on the graph * Regression and general statistical analyses of data available * proper printing routine * automatic scaling and moving of the graph 5. Backwards compatibility with version 1 (or at least, where there is a lack thereof) ------------------------------------------------ * Notes for Version 3.0 the color and font properties of TxyGraph have been removed due to no longer being functional * Notes for Version 2.3 I have removed all the backwards compatible code because the inclusion of it pushed me over the ***k barrier in D1.0. * Notes for version 2.2: -Gridlines has been split between the different Axes -The creation of new font properties will probably cause you some trouble * Notes for version 2.0 - 2.1: There have been few changes to the public and published parts of TxyGraph. Changes are listed here renamed: - GridColour to GridColor and all other places where Colour occurred. (especially for the Americans) changed: - get function - to getpoint/getvalue - delete function - to deletepoint/deletevalue (Refer to the help file for more info) Removed: - Text - OnNumericalError Many properties have been moved out of the published section. 6. What's next. ------------------------------------------------ Nothing on the list for the moment. After version 2.3 I said there was nothing more to do. huh! Java? 7.
