说明:  The objective of this project was to learn how to create high dynamic range (HDR) images from a sequence of exposures. A single exposure is limited in its dynamic range by the bit-depth of its sensors, which is usualy 8 bits per channel. This leads to saturation where regions of the image are washed out or completely black. By combining the information from multiple exposures with different shutter speeds, a larger dynamic range can be obtained and the saturated regions can be restored.

Image alignment To do image alignment, edit the list of images at the top of the doalign.m script and run the script. The aligned images will be saved as a sequence of TIFF files name img1.tif, img2.tif, ... Point selection To select points for the HDR algorithm, edit the list of images at the top of points.m to use the aligned images from the doalign.m script. Then run the script and click on the desired points in the images. Respose curve and tonemapping After selecting points, edit the list of images at the top of hdr.m to use the aligned images. Then run the script. The response curve and the tonemapped image will be displayed.
