INSTALLATION You can install this program pretty much anywhere but install.sh defaults to putting it in /usr/lib/picbook and /usr/bin. The program may ask at runtime where it is installed to access all the neccessary files. It stores that path in ~/.picbook. IMPORTANT FILES FixImage.sh This utility will try to fix files to work better in picbook. First it will rotate jpegs using jhead -autorot. Next it will rename the given files to the date and time that they were taken/created. It will attempt to use jhead to extract the information from the header in jpegs. If the date information is not otherwise available, it will rename the file to the date/time that it was created. Wav files will be treated specially since they are paired up with images from cameras that support audio. ImageInfo.sh will scan directory given with -i option and ask for all information needed to generate a PicBook.conf file in that directory PicBook.sh generates photo album using PicBook.conf, a theme, and your images PicBook.conf a sample config file. Can generate real file with ImageInfo.sh Templates directory where templates are stored. There are currently two templates: nocss, css1 The nocss templates contain html attributes with no css elements. css1 uses css to add look and feel to the album. Styles directory where images and other items can be easily swapped out to give the album a different look. skinsplit.sh takes a winamp-skin-file (.wsz or .zip) and extracts buttons for use with picbook.sh in gif format into a new directory with the name of the skin-file. INSTRUCTIONS * Install using install.sh (run install.sh -h for options) * Put all images that you want to work with into a directory * You may want to run FixImage.sh to process some of the images * Run ImageInfo.sh -i /path/to/directory to create a PicBook.conf file * Run PicBook.sh -i /path/to/directory -o /path/to/output * Browse to /path/to/output/index.html HINTS * PicBook will resize your pictures automatically and include an original copy too. It is currently set for about 800x600.
