ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. * ***************************************************************************** Usage: RESAMP16.EXE and RESAMP32.EXE are the programs that can resample the Wave Sound into any target frequency, and play it out. It provides a fast way to monitor any digital sound in the situation that a high performance Anti-Alias Filter is bypassed. In the stand-alone, solid state (IC chips) sound retrieval industry that the product sells lower than USD 30, most properly the output of the circuit don't have a low-pass filter to remove the anti-alias noise. It introduce the aliasing noise that is well noticeable and perceptible as "the sharp, metallic noise". Most people use multimedia PC (MPC) system to develop those products, especially the sound parts. A sound card from Sound Blaster to the professional cards like those from Digidesign will be used. Unfortunately, the codes used in those cards all have a extremely good Anti-Alias filter built in. How good? Typically 1024 stage FIR filter. It performs better than a analog filter constructed by 10 op-amps and 20 capacitors. It makes sounds appeared in a MPC are beautiful, but terrible when burn it in a (say), Winbond tiny Power Speech OTP with a transistor output. With BD&C's RESAMPLE program conjugated with your current sound editor with Windows Clipboard capability, you just need to copy the selected sound to clipboard by pressing Ctrl-C, and press the "Play" icon in our program. You will listen the real sounds. You can choose 2X, 4X or resample to any frequency you want. Normally, 4X is the best settings unless the four times of the original frequency will exceed your max. frequency limit. Then resample it into 44.1 KHz or 2X. RESAMP16.EXE is the 16 bit program that works with Windows 3.1X, 95, *** or NT, while RESAMP32.EXE is the 32 bit program that works with Windows 95, *** or NT only. RESAMP32.EXE have higher performance. Installation: RESAMP32.EXE and RESAMP16.EXE don't come with a fancy installation program. Just copy it in your Windows directory and make a shortcut by dragging the icon to the Desktop. You may also add it into StartMenu items by pressing "Start| Settings| Taskbar and Start Menu Programs| Add" and browse the EXE program.
