This directory provides a sample "top level client" player with a simple GUI for various platforms/windowing systems. Some of the implementations have outstanding issues as follows. Windows ---------------------------------------- Unix/Motif ---------------------------------------- * This version has been developed and tested against OpenMotif 2.1.30, but it is using pretty basic/old Motif (from the 1992 edition of the O'Reilly "Motif Programming Manual"), so it ought to work against any motif-like library out there. Need to test against some of the to know for sure. * There are OpenFile/OpenURL menu items that aren't hooked up to any dialogs yet. But there is a text entry field on the main window that you can use to enter filenames/URLs, so it's still possible to enter them. You will need to prepend "file://" onto the front of any filename to get it into a URL form for passing off to the player. * On the View menu, doing double size/normal size seem to work. Doing "full screen" doesn't - it crashes...down in the "site" somewhere. I haven't tried to get window resizing to translate into video area resize requests. I have this vague feeling that we may be doing X server I/O on different threads - a no-no that messes up the X communications. Needs more investigation. * I don't have a Help/About menu item up there at all. * Hitting stop or exit causes a seg fault. I've been discussing this with some folks and it's not likely a tlc problem, but one down in some client/renderer code. Macintosh ---------------------------------------- Not implemented yet.
