Loading and Set Up of Database: **UNIX: If you are reading this, you have already "uncompressed" and untar'd the classroom data base. Please copy the following student database directory to the "user1" classroom accounts. /allegro **NT: If you are reading this, you have already used WinZip or PKunzip to uncompress the classroom data base. This process creates an \allegro directory. Copy or move the \allegro directory into a C:\user1 directory. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ VI.) ***Testing Your Installation*** A test script is provided within the database directories. Run the test script to verify that the database has been loaded and that software and licensing is functioning properly. **NT: 1. Open a DOS cmd window 2. cd C:\user1\allegro\test 3. Enter: testscr A test script will run and end with the display of a Notepad window with a discription of pass or failure status. **UNIX 1. Cd to the user1/allegro directory. 2. About the solutions boards for the first three days - There are three versions maintained in the /allegro/solutions/ directory. For each version, there are three "flavors". One for a Concept flavor, one for a Capture flavor, and one for a 3rd party flavor. The suffix for the different flavors are "_con.brd", "_cap.brd", and "_3rd.brd" respectively. There is also a cds_master.brd which is a board outline file ready for a netlist to be read in. G. The last two days of the course has a solutions directory in each of the lesson directories. The files in the solutions directories are a backup copy of what is in the lesson directory. IX.) Other Comments/Hints/Suggestions: ** On NT ** Classroom installation assumes that students have the $HOME variable defined as C:\user1.
