Protel向用户提供SDK软件包。SDK软件包包括：服务器生成向导和Protel API及相关文档资料。
服务器生成向导是一个运行于设计资源管理器的插入式服务器，它为用户生成第三方EDA软件模板的原代码和安装文件（.INS文件），安装文件用于将用户开发的第三方EDA软件安装在设计资源管理器平台上。服务器生成向导可以为用户生成两种格式的原代码：Delphi和C++ Builder。
为方便用户开发第三方EDA软件，Protel向用户提供了大量的API，如：Schematic API、PCB API和Client API等，为方便用户使用这些API，Protel向用户提供有关API文档及RTL（Run Time Library：运行库）。

1. Purpose
These library updates are required if the Protel 99 SE SDK is
being used to develop servers for Service Pack 6 (SP6) of
Protel 99 SE.
The set of libraries supplied with the SDK can only be used for
servers developed for Protel 99 SE SP4, or earlier. To update
SP5 you require the rtl_update_sp5.zip file, downloadable from
the same place you downloaded rtl_update_sp6.zip

2. Installing the Updated Libraries
When you extract the contents of the ZIP file 1 folder will be
created, \RTL5. This folder includes the complete set of required
library files, as a direct replacement for the set supplied with
the SDK. Delphi 3 run time libraries are not supported in SP6 and
subsequent service packs.
If the contents of the ZIP file are extracted into the
\Design Explorer 99 SE\SDK folder then they will replace the
existing library files - if you need to develop a server for
P99SE SP5 or earlier, you should rename the existing folders
first.
After extracting the contents of the ZIP file you will need to
copy CSRTL50.BPL and ProtelComponents50.BPL from the \RTL5 folder
into the \WinNt\System32 or \Windows\System folder, replacing the
original Protel packages installed as part of the SDK installation.
