File Synchronizer Ken Schafer Version 1.0 September 1999. This is a small program which I wrote to synchronize program files between two directories, or a Zip Disk and a directory on your hard drive, or... well, you get the idea. It does this by checking each file that exists in both of the selected subdirectories and if they differ, copying the newer one to the directory which contains the older one. To use, simply run it, select Directory #1 in the left pane of the window, and Directory #2 in the right pane of the window, check any options you want, and click SYNCHRONIZE. If you're using it with Delphi program files, you'll probably want to have the option IGNORE ALL FILES WHOSE EXTENSION STARTS WITH "~" checked to avoiding further proliferating the various .~pa and .~dp files you have scattered about. If the option ONLY UPDATE FILES THAT EXIST IN BOTH SUBDIRECTORIES is checked, then if a file exists in one subdirectory but not in the other one, it will NOT be copied. Otherwise, if this option is NOT checked, then at the end of the SYNCHRONIZE function, both directories will contain EXACTLY the same files. SOURCE CODE: Full source code is included, as is the compiled Synchronizer program... but note that the compiled program has been run-time compressed with SHRINKER.EXE (a great program!) so if you recompile it, it will be bigger.
