This program is written Using Borland C++ 4.5 / OWL 2.5. You may need some runtime DLL's. You can download the DLL's from my web site. http://deztex.virtualave.net They can be found on the software page of the site. I also developed all the graphics using Paint Shop 6. I wrote these programs to help me test speaker systems that I build. The Function Generator will operate from 20 Hz to 20 Khz and produce a sine, triangle or square wave. The quality of the wave is determined by the quality of the sound card on your system. The pink noise is especially useful for testing speaker response using the spectrum analyzer. The Spectrum Analyzer appears to be slow... keep in mind that the FFT requires a rather large sample buffer to compute higher frequencies. Not to mention the processing required. The Scope is useful for looking at wave forms. The time/div is fairly accurate. Due to sound cards not having a standard input level, a voltage measurement scale would be useless. Note: Because the Scope and the Analyzer both use the wave input device, They can not be run at the same time. I connect the output of my sound card to my amplifier using the line out signal. Be careful! The output of the generator may damage speakers if you have the volume too high. Not mention the damage to your ears. I then take the line output of the amplifier (tape out) and connect it to the line input of the sound card. This allows you to view signals on the scope or analyzer. You can also view the signals from a microphone connected to the mic input of the sound card. The mixer on your sound card must be able to record. Make sure the line or mic record level is set and the record input selected on the mixer. Have fun with it. Charles Kratzer thekratz@hotmail.com
