BSP version information: Be sure to uninstall any previous BSP release before installing. You may also want to make sure your \platform\gumstixII is removed as the uninstall may leave residual files. Also it’s a good idea to make sure all the latest rollups and QFE’s are installed for Platform Builder before proceeding. 08-15-07 2.1 Added dual slot support for WiFiStix-CF. Modified boot loader to 4.1 also to support dual slot and WiFiStix-CF also. Revised oemaddrtable_cfg.inc to support virtual address space for second CF slot. 05-30-07 2.0 Second CE 6.0 Beta First release to CodePlex site. Lots of changes. The boot loader supports loading images built for CE 5.0 or CE 6.0. Fixed many pbcxml catalog name collisions. Better managed code support. Added OpenNETCF SDF 2.1 dlls. 11-15-06 1.0 First CE 6.0 Beta (unreleased) Ported post CE 5.0 0.7 release to CE 6.0 12-27-06 0.7 Fifth release Fixed support for persistent registry on 4M platforms. Added revised CoreCon components for debugging with Visual Studio 2005 SP1. Added WiFi support with WiFiStix. Fixed support for ETH2 on netDUO added second mac address in boot loader. Removed and reworked card detection for MMC cards. MMC implementation does not support hot plugging but now work on all versions of hardware (Basic old and new socket, netDUo and netMMC). Reworked BSP Args boot flags including persistent registry flags. Added Persistent registry, notification LED and WiFiStix option bits to hardware configuration word. Added driver support for WiFiStix and Notification LED. Added IOCTL codes to wav device to support controling UCB1400 GPIO and A/D converter. Added AudioStix GPIO and A/D support to GumstixManagedAPI. 12-10-06 0.6 Fourth release Lots and lots of fixes. Better interrupt handling. Latest OpennetCF dlls. Most drivers now test the hardware configuration dword in their Init routine and fail if not enabled. This makes for easier osdesign setup as you can now construct an osdesign that basically has all the drivers selected from the catalog. The selection to support the driver is now made at run time using the hardware configuration dword. By just changing the hardware configuration in the bootloader, different permutations of hardware are supported with the same osdesign and just one image. Bootloader now supports boot block locking, this does a low level lock of the first 3 blocks of the Strata Flash. The bootloader code and parameters are stored here. Hive based registry now supported. The on board Flash is used for storage of the hives. A bootloader command has been added to trigger a clean of the hives on next power up. A force registry flush application has been added and is populated in the MRU (Most Reciently Used) of the run menu. All staticly mapped sysintr's have been removed in favor of dynamic assigned inq to sysintr mapping. 4-5-06 0.5 Third beta release Lots more support for managed code (i.e. Compact Framework 2.0 and Visual Studio 2005). Gumstix managed API added. Supports VS2005 debugging via TCP/IP. Simple power managment via processor idle between OS tics. More IOCNTL calls to support things like getting the hardware configuration settings and boot loader version programmatically. Support for new Bluetooth module. More arguments passed from bootloader to OS (see caution below). Inclusion of a Microsofts Embedded Source Tools for Bluetooth API (slightly modified to support Gumstix's Bluetooth radio). Inclusion of OpenNETCF's SDF 2.0 beta 1 libraries (OpenNETCF.dll, OpenNETCF.Net.dll and OpenNETCF.WindowsCE.dll). See bootloader readme folder for more info. CAUTION: Bootloader must be upgraded to 3.0 for compatability with BSP 0.5 and up. 3-12-06 0.4 Second beta release Virtul display now waits for ActiveSync connection (if using PPP_PEER) instead of just dumb delay. Added Bluetooth support. Tested with the old ROK module. The new Infineon module is untested, it suppose to work without handshake and defaults to a different baud rate. If this is true you should be able to use the XSCALE BTUART instead of the HWUART. Added another bit to the harware configuration dword to distinguish between the different Bluetooth modules. Fixed pccard/MMC BSP_NOXXX problem. Strata Flash driver working and added catalog item. Rebuilt cerhost (cerHost3 in tools directory) to support socket port number as a command line argument. If not specified it uses ***7 as the default. The virtual display also has an optional matching registry value ("Port"). This allow running multiple instances of the virtual display on the desktop. Fixed Bluetooth IO init bug. 1-17-06 0.3 First beta release. Major objectives of this release is to show how to build a .NET Compact Framework capable platform. Minor driver fixes, Integerated latest boot loader (2.0). Reworked and added more documentation. 11-26-05 0.2 Second Alpha release. Corrected problem with serial ports. Minor changes and corrections to boot loader v1.1. Improved Virtual display support, now supports color, 8 bpp. Added device ID strings. Card Bus, USB function and Bluetooth drivers added. Added some utilities. 10-14-05 0.1 First Alpha release. Major objectives of this release is a stable kernel and boot loader.
