Prolific Driver Problems ------------------------ Using the Prolific "USB-to-Serial Comm Port" driver from http://www.prolific.tw/ for the PL-2303X chip can give stability problems, if the driver version is different from 2.0.0.26 (currently the only known good version for Windows 2000/XP). Both older and newer driver versions are known to give problems. Therefore the FlashTool_E2.exe will check the current driver version (if any is installed) when it is started. It is highly adviceable to install driver version 2.0.0.26. If you already have a newer driver installed, then it may be a little difficult to uninstall and get Windows to install an older driver. In that case please use "DRemover***ME2KXP.exe" to remove the old driver and run "PL-2303 Driver Installer_old.exe" afterwards to install the older driver.
