energy-constrained wireless communication applications, since they facilitate a low transmission energy consumption. How-
ever, in order to reduce the overall energy consumption, lookup table-log-BCJR (LUT-Log-BCJR) architectures having a low

mental add compare (ACS) operations and perform them using a novel low-complexity ACS unit. We demonstrate that the proposed

06343251_2012.rar - To increase the throughput of turbo decoding, a new decoding method is proposed in this letter. The proposed method performs two decoding phases, in-ordered and interleaved ones, simultaneously by using two SISO decoders, which is completely contrast to the conventional decoding approach that conducts one of the two phases alternatively. The two SISO decoders exchange their outputs immediately to accelerate the update of extrinsic information and in turn to reduce the overall decoding latency, increasing the throughput by almost two times. The simulation can be started by running the main.m script. This can be modified to either the BCJR algorithm or the fully-parallel algorithm, as well as to the frame length N. As the simulation proceeds, it will gradually plot the BER that can be achieved using various number of decoding iterations, as selected in main.m. A greater number of decoding iterations will give a lower BER.
