IMPORTANT NOTE: The XML web service included in this sample application is for testing the client application only and is not fully implemented. It uses a hardcoded set of data does not write to a database. For example, if you create a new expense report and then submit it, you will not see it in the list if you subsequently view submitted reports. SECURITY NOTE: The AuthenticateUser method of the sample XML web service takes the username and password parameters in plain text. If you were using this XML Web service in a production environment, you should use a secure protocol to make the web service method call, such as SSL. You must install the Expense Report XML Web service to use the sample apps. To install the XML Web service 1. Double-click on the Setup.Exe file in this folder to start the installation. 2. When the setup wizard appears, click Next. 3. Accept all the defaults on the Setup Installation Address dialog and click Next. 4. Click Next on the Confirm Installation dialog. Note: IIS must be installed such that c:\inetpub\wwwroot is the root of your web server. This is the default setting. 5. When the Installation Complete dialog appears, click Close to complete the installation.
